Good news for Martha Brockenbrough

She is very happy to announce the sale of her picture book, The Dinosaur Tooth Fairy, to Arthur A. Levine Books. Michael Stearns of Upstart Crow Literary is her agent.

Martha feels sort of silly talking about herself in the third person, but she makes everyone else do it so it seems only fair. She's also grateful beyond words to everyone at the SCBWI, because this never would have happened without the support and serendipitous opportunities the organization provides.

This it great news for you, your fam, your fans! It is a breakthrough for dentistry, as well as paleontology, to say nothing of all the parties that the fairies will be having in your honor. Yay Martha!

You guys, thank you for all your good wishes. I've wanted to write for children my whole life. Starting almost 9 years ago to the day (when my first child was born), I began noodling around with picture books.

It's taken me a while to learn what I need to learn, but it has been so much fun. I really feel like I've found the people I belong with, and I feel like I'm doing what I'm meant to do. It's such a pleasure to know you all and to do this work together.

Here's to continuing to enjoy each other and the creative process.
