Volunteer Opportunity for K-6 Authors

Aline Gosman is an AmeriCorps member serving at Rochester Organization of Families (ROOF) and Grand Mound Elementary School, and is excited to announce a project called Just Read.

On June 4, local families will be invited to the Rochester Community Center for a day of reading centered activities geared to promote literacy. The day will also serve as a book drive to benefit the after-school program at ROOF Community Services and the local library in Rochester.

She is looking for interested authors (who write for K-6) to get in touch with her. She'd like them to do a reading, and answer questions from the audience. The chance to meet a published or aspiring author would be a special occasion for the children of unincorporated Rochester. It's more than likely a volunteer opportunity, but maybe you can ask about having your books for sale at the event.
