If you want to illustrate or create children's books, or would like to contribute artwork to children's magazines, or reach other potential markets, then this three quarter certificate course will help prepare you for a career in creating for children. Introduction to Picture Book Illustration
Learn how to create rich characters, use pictorial space to make the reader see what you want them to see, and choose the right images to best tell a story through emotion, mood, and atmosphere.
Part 2 - Spring Quarter -
Storytelling and More
Learn how to use a storyboard and different book compositions, make book dummies, create art to illustrate stories, and practice different forms of storytelling.
Part 3 - Summer Quarter -
Getting Your Work to Market
Learn how to market your work, build a professional portfolio and promo pieces, write effective query and cover letters, and gain a general overview of copyright issues, contracts, agents—art reps and the publishing business.
