Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett is seeking authors and/or illustrators to present during this summer’s Discovery Club Literacy Program. The program is for early elementary students who are reading below grade level. Your job is simply to read them one of your books, share your love of reading, and answer some questions about your own reading, writing, and illustrating. It is unpaid, but requires very little prep and is a great way to give back to kids in our area who can really use your help.
Available openings are Mondays through Thursdays, July 16 – August 23, at 11 am.
Our own Laurie Ann Thompson has volunteered for this program for several years running and highly recommends it! It’s a great way to practice for school visits if you’re still a bit unsure, and a fun, easy, feel-good gig if you’re a seasoned pro.
