The Benjamin Franklin Award.

Illustrator Craig Orback learned that the book he illustrated, Gifts From the Enemy, won a 2015 gold level Benjamin Franklin Award! The award is from the Independent Book Publishers Association and recognizes excellence in book editorial and design and is regarded as one of the highest national honors for independent publishers. Written by Trudy Ludwig and published by White Cloud Press, they won in the young reader / nonfiction category (8-12 years).

The award-winning book also received a starred review from the Jewish Book Council. Here is a quote from the review:

"Wiener’s story is simplified and depends on the dramatic illustrations for their impact. The text starts out sparse and simple and becomes more ample and mature as the story progresses. The art is the story, however, and it is prize-worthy."
