Authors/illustrators wanted for a great cause

First Book, a local nonprofit literacy organization based in Seattle, does work that's very close to our collective hearts. Their aim is to get books into the hands of poverty-level elementary school students.

First Book's Julie Riley has put out a call for local children's book authors and illustrators to attend a special event on Monday, December 9, during which she wants to have PALs read from or present their books. The program celebrates a day where 2,000 books will be distributed to K-2 children in Seattle Public elementary schools.

If you would be interested in participating, please contact Julie directly via email, or you can reach her at 206-660-9149 to receive more information.

Thanks in advance for promoting not only your work, but reading for the kids who need it most.
