Because we have so much love for you all, we're letting you off the hook this Valentine's Day and are instead holding our monthly meeting THIS COMING MONDAY. Same time (7pm), same place (Seattle Pacific University, Demaray Hall).

Royce Buckingham will speak about "Writing Treatments: How To Save a Year of Your Writing Life." If you don't know Royce, well, you're in for a treat. His debut fantasy novel, Demon Keeper, has taken on a life of its own around the world, and Goblins!, while his upcoming novel, The Terminals, is expected to be released later this year. He will share how writing a short (15-page, 30-page, 50-page) version of your intended novel will distill your story and help focus your plot and organize your story's structure. Learn some amazing tricks of the picture-book trade! You'll delve into the visual side of things with the inspirational "Narrative Treatments for Illustrators" session given by talented and prolific Portland-based illustrator Lee White. Discover creative and unexpected ways to illustrate around the text of a story. Specific techniques will be shared that will enhance your next portfolio piece or book-length project.
