New featured illustrator tells all (about the SCBWI Int'l conference in NYC, anyway)

You may remember John Deininger as the 2nd Runner-up in the Juried Art Portfolio Contest at our 2009 annual writers and illustrators conference. He also received recognition there for an Outstanding Work in Progress for his picture-book manuscript, Beep. Now, we're happy to announce that he's the latest featured illustrator on our very own web page!

John has also compiled a wonderfully detailed post about the SCBWI International Winter Conference in New York City last weekend--from an illustrator's perspective! The main points:

1. Be yourself, be unique.
2. Put your heart into it, be emotional, be passionate.
